During a visit to the national children’s specialised hospital “Okhmatdet” on July 30th, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated that Ukraine must show everyone how strong it is.
“Everyone loves numbers very much. By the Day of the Protection of Children we have to inaugurate something grandiose, so that all journalists come out and applaud, what good fellows the President and the Ministry are, by this day they did it, while there is somehow – cover it somewhere, then you will finish it,” said Zelensky.
“By Independence Day (August 24th) we need to make a new airplane and to show everyone how strong we are — aircraft is flying, we’ll bomb everyone. You see, I don’t think it’s a question of dates, it’s a question of whether it works or not. I think that in general, we should stop this populist story. There is desire that by Day of the Protection of Children, it’s my internal feeling, I want doctors and children to be happy that we did it. The most important thing is to do it when it is ready. To inaugurate it when it’s already done.”
(Note: what Zelensky says in this video is almost gobbledygook, as the quotes above show.)
