On May 16, Bill Morneau, Canada’s Minister of Finance, announced that Justin Trudeau’s government will give a taxpayer bailout to any company that wants to build Kinder Morgan’s tar sands pipeline.

After several weeks of closed-door meetings with the Texas-based oil company, Trudeau’s government has now officially said that it will ‘indemnify’ any private corporation that wants to build the pipeline. This means Trudeau will be using your tax dollars to write a blank cheque to a multi-billion dollar oil company.
