Hospitals in Gaza are critically short on essential supplies, leaving 80 per cent of patients without access to vital medications, Director-General of the Ministry of Health, Dr Munir Al-Bursh, said yesterday.

Speaking to Sama News Agency, Al-Bursh confirmed there has been a dramatic decline in the healthcare sector, with deaths expected at any moment due to the lack of medical resources.

He also revealed that there have been 4,500 cases of amputations in the Gaza Strip, including 800 children and 540 women.

Israel has repeatedly targeted medical resources and hospitals, directly threatening the quality of medical care, especially with the disruption of medical supplies, the prevention of the entry of medicines and field hospitals. This, coupled with the continuation of its genocidal bombing campaign has led to an influx of injured individuals arriving in emergency departments, operating rooms, and intensive care units.

At dawn on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, Israel resumed its military aggression against the Gaza Strip, ending a fragile truce that had lasted for about two months with Egyptian, Qatari, and American mediation. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the Israeli bombardment resulted in the death of over 700 Palestinians.
