The Pasifika Medicines Support for Diabetes and Chronic Conditions has been established to provide guidance, information and support to the Pasifika community and empower patients and their families to develop knowledge about their health and the skills to manage their medications safely.
This group has been shaped around PhD research by Natasha Taufatofua, a dedicated pharmacist who aims to 'support medication taking in the Maori and Pacific Islander community with type 2 diabetes'. This research is being conducted in partnership with the Pasifika Women’s Alliance, University of Queensland and is affiliated with many other Pacific Islander community groups including the Pacific Islands Council of Queensland and the Australian Pasifika Diabetes Research Group.
If you or someone you know is seeking support and would like advice from a health professional, please contact Natasha and join the Facebook support group for regular updates!
