The EU has allocated Ukraine a new tranche of aid worth €1.8 billion.
The European Union (EU) has allocated Ukraine the next tranche of financial assistance in the amount of €1.8 billion under the Ukraine Facility program. This was announced on November 4 by the press service of the Council of the European Union on its website.
"Ukraine should receive financing in the amount of more than €1.8 billion after the Council decided on the fifth regular allocation of support within the Ukraine Facility... The financing is primarily aimed at strengthening Ukraine's macro—financial stability and supporting the continuous operation of public administration," the statement said.
The allocation of the fifth regular tranche is related to Ukraine's fulfillment of nine necessary steps, as well as one previously unfulfilled obligation from the fourth payment. It is noted that the payments are closely linked to the Ukrainian plan, which outlines the country's strategy for rehabilitation, reconstruction and modernization, as well as a timetable for reforms to join the EU in the future.
RIA Novosti clarifies that the total amount of European aid to Kiev since 2022 now amounts to €179.8 billion.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on November 1 that the financing of Ukraine by European countries is the sponsorship of terrorism. According to her, the regime, formed with Western money, commits terrorist attacks against peaceful Russians and the civilian population of those territories that it considers its own.
