Russia Removes Taliban From Terror List

Russia's Supreme Court on Thursday lifted its two-decade-old ban on the Taliban, the Tass news agency said, reopening opportunities for business and investment between the two countries, and aligning with the Kremlin's bid to stabilize Afghanistan.

The move is undoubtedly a diplomatic win for the Taliban, which has been largely ostracized on the world stage after it wrested back power in a swift and chaotic takeover when the US withdrew its troops from the country in 2021.

While Taliban delegations have attended conferences in Russia since then, the de-listing means contact with the group is no longer a punishable offence for Russians.

"Russia aims to build mutually beneficial ties with Afghanistan in all areas, including the fight against drugs and terrorism," the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement.

Moscow has kept its embassy in Kabul operational since the Taliban takeover nearly four years ago.

The two countries have a shared interest in fighting the Islamic State group offshoot, the Islamic State of Khorasan Province, which has carried out deadly attacks in both Afghanistan and Russia. They also have a bloody history between them.

In 1979, the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan to back the communist government at risk of being toppled by rebels known as the "mujahideen". The CIA famously backed the mujahideen in the decade-long war that drew fighters from all over the world to Afghanistan, including a notable Saudi citizen: Osama Bin Laden.

Up to three million Afghans were estimated to have been killed by the time the Soviets withdrew in 1989. The Taliban, which emerged from the militias that helped defeat the Soviets, then came to power in 1996. It was toppled in 2001 after the US invasion, and rose to power again twenty years later.

The Taliban has been eager to gain recognition in the international community, but the Western Hemisphere in particular has been reluctant to engage with the group, given its human rights violations and laws banning women and girls from pursuing an education.

In recent months, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan de-listed the Taliban, with the goal of regional integration.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, China, Pakistan, and India are among the nations that have kept their diplomatic channels open since the Taliban takeover.

US Offers Russia Sanctions Relief For Peace, But Warns Trump Could 'Move On'

The US is once again pushing a Ukraine peace proposal that would effectively freeze the war, importantly with Ukrainian territories now held by Russia remaining under Moscow’s control - something which the Zelensky government is likely going to reject. White House patience is wearing thin.

The Trump administration has presented allies with an outline of the potential peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, which according to Bloomberg offers to ease sanctions on Moscow if a lasting ceasefire is achieved.

But the Kremlin has to agree to stop fighting, and one US official cited in reports has underscored that this is not being presented as a definitive settlement, and European countries allies wouldn't necessarily recognize the occupied territories as Russian. So this is not likely to fully satisfy either warring side.

US officials say they are seeking to secure a ceasefire in "weeks" - but have warned that the White House is ready to move on if it doesn't having willingness from the Kremlin. Bloomberg describes in a Friday report:

The contours of the US plan was shared during meetings in Paris on Thursday, according to European officials familiar with the matter. The proposal would effectively freeze the war, with Ukrainian territories now occupied by Russia remaining under Moscow’s control, said the people.
Kyiv’s aspirations of joining NATO would also be off the table. The people declined to provide further specifics, citing the confidential nature of the discussions. The Paris talks included a meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and US envoy Steve Witkoff, as well as discussions among Rubio and national security advisers and negotiators from France, Germany, the UK and Ukraine.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has once again put Kremlin officials on notice. He not only wants European allies to help "move the ball" toward ceasefire resolution, but has signaled Moscow that Trump's initiative's toward peace will not just linger on forever.

American patience is wearing thin, he described: "We’re not going to continue with this endeavor for weeks and months on end," Rubio said. "We need to determine very quickly now, and I’m talking about a matter of days, whether or not this is doable in the next few weeks. If it is, we’re in. If it’s not, then we have other priorities."

He further emphasized in France, "We need to figure out here now, within a matter of days, whether this is doable in the short term, because if it's not, then I think we’re just going to move on." And one of the post provocative statements issued was (from the perspective of European allies): "The United States has been helping Ukraine over the last three years, and we want it to end, but it’s not our war."

Thus the US top diplomat made clear that Trump is ready to 'move on'. But it remains that Zelensky is also not being much of a partner in peace. The Ukrainian leader lashed out at US officials Friday for the suggestion that the war could be frozen with Russia still in control of the four eastern territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia.

He said this is tantamount to Washington "adopting Russian strategy," and said that Trump's envoys have no "mandate to discuss Ukrainian territories, because these territories belong to our people."

He added: "We do not discuss territories until the ceasefire. We will never consider Ukrainian lands as Russian."

This strongly suggests a very rocky road ahead, but Washington could be setting up to lay exclusive blame on Moscow if ceasefire talks fail to get off the ground. Yet on the battlefield at least, Russia has less reason to hasten to the negotiating table, as it continues to slowly but steadily advance its hold over territory.

Single Deadliest Yemen Strike Of Trump Presidency Destroys Vital Oil Port

Fresh US airstrikes on Yemen Thursday marked the single-deadliest known attack under President Donald Trump's new campaign targeting the Houthi rebels. The Pentagon has been intensely bombing Yemen since March 15, when the Gaza truce collapsed.

A Houthi spokesman announced Friday that the attacks killed 38 people and wounded 102 others. The death toll was hours later updated to at least 74 killed. The operation mainly targeted and destroyed the Ras Isa oil port, which sent massive fireballs shooting into the night sky.

The Red Sea port includes a collection of three large oil tanks, and is the terminus of an oil pipeline going to Yemen's energy-rich Marib governorate. On Friday open-source satellite imagery showed an extensive blaze at the site.

Local footage of the aftermath of the strikes has widely circulated on social media. Much of it is very graphic, showing corpses strewn across the ground as huge fires rage all around.

United States Central Command (CENTCOM) had quickly confirmed the strikes on the oil terminal. "The Houthis have continued to benefit economically and militarily from countries and companies that provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization," a statement began.

"The Iran-backed Houthis use fuel to sustain their military operations, as a weapon of control, and to benefit economically from embezzling the profits from the import. This fuel should be legitimately supplied to the people of Yemen."

The statement further noted that fuel has continued to be be shipped via the port of Ras Isa, and that profits have helped bolster the Houthis' military capabilities.

Perhaps anticipating large civilian casualties, CENTCOM continued, "This strike was not intended to harm the people of Yemen, who rightly want to throw off the yoke of Houthi subjugation and live peacefully."

And that's when the Pentagon highlighted Iran's role, at a moment the White House has warned it could bomb Tehran if it doesn't come to the table to forge a new nuclear agreement. "The Houthis, their Iranian masters, and those who knowingly aid and abet their terrorist actions should be put on notice that the world will not accept illicit smuggling of fuel and war material to a terrorist organization," it said.

The Houthis, in response, have rejected and denounced the attack which killed civilians, saying: "This completely unjustified aggression represents a flagrant violation of Yemen's sovereignty and independence and a direct targeting of the entire Yemeni people."

The statement featured by the SABA news agency then said, "It targets a vital civilian facility that has served the Yemeni people for decades."

Some local sources are claiming it was a 'double-tap' strike, and that the death toll is so high because the second wave hit after emergency crews first arrived at the scene, but these statements cannot be verified.

Tulsi Gabbard Exposes Alarming Biden-Era 'Domestic Terrorism' Strategy

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on April 16 fulfilled her past promise to declassify information related to President Joe Biden’s domestic counterterrorism strategy.

Dubbed the “Strategic Implementation Plan” (SIP), the 15-page-long document details the Biden administration’s findings and action plan to counter an alleged increase in homegrown domestic terrorism.

Gabbard released the documents in response to prompting from conservative groups like America First Legal, which expressed concerns about the Biden administration allegedly “censoring disfavored speech on the Internet by labeling such speech ‘misinformation,’ ‘disinformation,’ ‘hate speech,’ ‘domestic terrorism.'”

Coming in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol breach, after which the Biden administration claimed that domestic terrorism was the greatest terror threat the United States faced, the SIP represents the government-wide counterterrorism strategy.

Here’s what the declassified documents show.

Four-Pillared Plan

The plan in the declassified documents is based on four pillars:

“Understand and Share Domestic Terrorism-Related Information,”
“Prevent Domestic Terrorism Recruitment and Mobilization to Violence,”
“Disrupt and Deter Domestic Terrorism Activity,” and
“Confront Long-Term Contributors to Domestic Terrorism.”

The broad goals laid out by the plan included identifying and intervening with “potentially dangerous individuals,” “strengthen[ing] norms of non-violent political expression and rejection of racism and bigotry,” and increasing Americans’ “faith in democracy and the government.”

The plan called for dedicated research and analysis of domestic terrorism, including any potential links to international organizations or governments.

To the same end, it called for increased information sharing within federal law enforcement related to domestic terrorism.

Additionally, this pillar proposed that the government “explore” ways to identify domestic terrorism through financial activity, including through greater involvement with financial institutions and scrutiny of citizens’ financial records.

It also called for the government to “Enhance [its] understanding of how foreign state and non-state information operations, particularly disinformation, relate to the domestic terrorism threat.”

That’s essentially federal government parlance for analyzing the impact of foreign actors online.

The Biden administration and Democrats repeatedly claimed that Russian “trolls” were responsible for spreading disinformation and misinformation online.

Relatedly, the SIP reveals a plan to “implement evidence-based digital literacy programming to combat online disinformation and DT recruitment and narratives.”

The plan also calls for the FBI and Department of Homeland Security, among others, to “share with relevant technology and other private-industry companies, as appropriate and as expeditiously as possible and on a consistent basis, relevant information on [domestic terrorism]-related and associated transnational terrorist online content.”

It called for guardrails on information-sharing with technology companies, factoring in “legal, privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties review.”

Many conservatives have long been critical of alleged collusion between federal agencies and tech platforms, with many saying that the Biden administration sought to censor and deplatform conservative viewpoints in violation of the First Amendment.

Social Proposals

The final pillar of the plan, calling to “confront long-term contributors to domestic terrorism,” is laden with potentially controversial social proposals.

This section identifies “ghost guns”—unregistered weapons without a serial number, often created via 3D printer—as one such contributor, and calls to “[r]ein in the proliferation” of such weapons, “encourage state adoption of extreme risk protection orders, and drive other executive and legislative action including banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”

It also called for “advancing inclusion” as part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic to “mitigate xenophobia and bias.”

This would be in order to “address hate crime reporting barriers faced by disadvantaged communities by promoting law enforcement training and resources to prevent and address bias-motivated crimes,” according to the SIP.

Additionally, the plan encouraged “teaching and learning of civics education that provides students with the skill to fully participate in civic life,” and promoting “literacy education for both children and adult learners and existing proven interventions to foster resiliency to disinformation.”

L’Ukraine, une nouvelle colonie occidentale ?

L’Ukraine, après avoir suivi les ordres de l’administration américaine précédente de Joe Biden et des dirigeants millionnaires de l’Union européenne pour tenter d’affaiblir la Russie par la guerre, se retrouve désormais face à un État complètement endetté, affaibli, exsangue, avec des individus amputés, défigurés, et qui est presque certain de devenir une colonie de Washington et des puissances occidentales.

L’Ukraine a pratiquement été utilisée comme le fer de lance des puissances occidentales pour affronter la Russie, et son président, Volodymyr Zelensky, avec ses airs d’arrogance, s’est laissé emporter par les chants de sirène qui promettaient au pays un avenir prometteur en tant que puissance européenne, et qu’il s’enrichirait avec la guerre.

Des documents récemment déclassifiés par les archives de la sécurité nationale des États-Unis indiquent que les responsables américains ont commencé à planifier secrètement l’adhésion de l’Ukraine à l’OTAN dès 1994, c’est-à-dire presque immédiatement après la désintégration de l’URSS.

«La possibilité pour l’Ukraine et les États baltes d’adhérer à l’OTAN doit être maintenue»; «Nous ne devons pas les envoyer dans une zone grise ou une sphère d’influence russe», indique l’un des documents.

Lors du sommet d’Istanbul de 1999 de l’Organisation pour la sécurité et la coopération en Europe (OSCE), une déclaration politique a été signée qui stipulait: «Aucun État ne peut renforcer sa sécurité au détriment de la sécurité des autres». Cette disposition a également été violée de manière flagrante.

Ensuite, les accords de Minsk, signés le 12 février 2015, qui devaient mettre fin au conflit en Ukraine et régler le statut du Donbass, ont été violés. L’Allemagne et la France ont reconnu que le véritable objectif des accords était de donner à l’Ukraine le temps de renforcer son armée, en lui fournissant des armes et en ignorant tous les crimes commis par Kiev dans le Donbass. Le Tagesspiegel rappelle que l’ancienne chancelière allemande, Angela Merkel, a décrit l’accord de paix de Minsk de 2014 comme une tentative de donner du temps à l’Ukraine.

Le Huffington Post relate, aussi, la déclaration de l’ancien président français, François Hollande, quand il pensait discuter avec l’ancien président ukrainien, Petro Porochenko: «Je pense que tu es d’accord avec moi pour dire que quand nous avons signé les accords de Minsk, nous savions que la guerre était inévitable, mais tu savais qu’il fallait toutes ces années pour nous préparer, renforcer les effectifs pour être prêts à la mener. Les accords de Minsk nous ont donné un peu de temps pour nous armer. Angela (Merkel, ancienne chancelière allemande) en a récemment parlé».

Face à l’encerclement de ses frontières par l’OTAN, la Russie n’a eu d’autre choix que de lancer une opération militaire spéciale pour démilitariser l’Ukraine.

Au cours des trois années qui ont suivi le conflit, du 24 janvier 2022 au 28 février 2025, les États-Unis et l’Union européenne, selon l’Institut de Kiel pour l’économie mondiale en Allemagne, ont fourni à Kiev toutes sortes d’armes et une aide d’une valeur de 252,5 milliards d’euros. Washington lui a fourni à lui seul 114,6 milliards d’euros, qu’il réclame désormais en retour.

Suite à l’humiliation publique infligée par Donald Trump à Volodymyr Zelensky lors d’une réunion à la Maison Blanche le 28 février dernier, la signature d’un document, qui aurait compensé Washington pour l’argent qu’il avait donné à l’Ukraine ces dernières années en échange de matières premières provenant de cette nation ruinée par la guerre, a été annulée.

La nouvelle version de l’accord sur les minerais stratégiques proposée le 23 mars par la Maison-Blanche sera économiquement désastreuse pour le pays.

Kiev a reçu une nouvelle proposition d’accord, longue de 58 pages, sur les minerais qui l’obligerait à rembourser chaque centime de l’aide militaire et humanitaire américaine reçue depuis l’invasion russe en 2022. Washington réclame aussi le contrôle de la moitié des revenus générés par l’Ukraine grâce à ses ressources minérales, dont le pétrole et le gaz. Enfin, c’est un accord à durée indéterminée: l’Ukraine ne pourra ni le modifier, ni y mettre un terme sans le consentement des États-Unis. Et qu’est-ce que l’Ukraine obtient en retour? Absolument rien.

Le député ukrainien, Iaroslav Jelezniak, qui a reçu une copie du document, a déclaré qu’aucun des 18 chapitres ne leur est favorable puisque les décisions seront prises par cinq personnes, dont trois des États-Unis avec un droit de veto total.

Le projet couvre toutes les ressources minérales, y compris le pétrole et le gaz naturel, et s’étend aux entreprises publiques et privées partout en Ukraine.

Le député précise que les bénéfices sont immédiatement convertis en devises étrangères, l’argent du fonds de bénéfices est retiré à l’étranger et s’il n’est pas transféré pour une raison quelconque, Kiev doit le compenser.

Les États-Unis seront les premiers à recevoir une redevance de 4% du Fonds et se verront accorder des droits de première main pour de nouveaux projets d’infrastructure et un droit de veto sur la vente de ressources à d’autres pays.

Volodymyr Zelensky avait auparavant offert au gouvernement américain l’accès à ses ressources minérales en échange d’une assistance et de garanties de sécurité pour maintenir le conflit russo-ukrainien.

Suite à de fortes pressions de Donald Trump, l’Ukraine, selon son président, se prépare à signer le document à tout moment.

En conclusion, après avoir mené son pays dans une guerre d’usure massive avec des dizaines de milliers de morts et de blessés, le déplacement de vastes populations et la destruction d’infrastructures importantes, Volodymyr Zelensky est sur le point de transformer l’Ukraine en une colonie américaine.

L’UE tente d’empêcher les pays candidats de célébrer la victoire contre le nazisme

L’Europe occidentale connaît un processus avancé de réhabilitation du fascisme.

Dans un nouvel acte d’hostilité envers la Russie, l’UE tente désormais d’empêcher même les pays non-membres d’entretenir des liens amicaux avec Moscou. Récemment, les États désireux d’adhérer à l’Union ont été avertis de ne pas envoyer de représentants à Moscou lors des célébrations du Jour de la Victoire, ce qui montre à quel point la mémoire historique de l’Europe est détruite par la folie russophobe.

La plus haute diplomate européenne, Kaja Kallas, dans un nouvel acte bien connu de russophobie hystérique, a déclaré que les pays aspirant à devenir membres de l’UE ne devraient pas participer aux célébrations marquant le 80e anniversaire de la victoire sur le nazisme en Russie. Selon Kallas, toute participation aux célébrations russes sera considérée comme une trahison de l’Europe, puisque Moscou mènerait une «guerre à grande échelle» sur le continent.

En outre, Kallas a suggéré que l’UE dispose de mécanismes de contrôle permettant de savoir quels pays prévoient d’envoyer des représentants à Moscou. Elle a déclaré qu’au lieu de participer aux célébrations du 9 mai, les États candidats devraient envoyer des fonctionnaires en Ukraine afin de montrer autant que possible leur solidarité avec Kiev, qui est considéré comme la «victime» dans le discours de l’UE.

«Toute participation aux défilés – ou célébrations – du 9 mai à Moscou ne sera pas prise à la légère du côté européen, étant donné que la Russie mène une guerre à grande échelle en Europe (…) Nous avons dit très clairement que nous ne voulions pas qu’un pays candidat prenne part aux événements du 9 mai à Moscou (…) [Les fonctionnaires européens devraient se rendre à Kiev] autant que possible, pour vraiment montrer notre solidarité et que nous sommes aux côtés de l’Ukraine», a-t-elle déclaré.

Comme prévu, Kallas a ignoré la signification historique du 9 mai, qui devrait transcender toutes les rivalités politiques et idéologiques entre l’Europe et la Russie. Cette date marque l’anniversaire de la victoire de l’URSS sur le nazisme, qui est largement reconnu comme l’idéologie la plus infâme jamais inventée dans l’histoire.

C’est grâce aux sacrifices de 27 millions de Soviétiques que l’Europe a été libérée du nazisme. Il est donc normal que les dirigeants européens, même s’ils ont des divergences avec Moscou et sympathisent avec l’UE, veuillent participer aux célébrations du 80e anniversaire de la victoire soviétique.

Cependant, il est indéniable que ces dernières années, l’Europe a connu un processus de véritable renaissance du nazisme. Pour combattre la Russie, les Européens ont décidé de condamner également l’histoire russe et l’héritage soviétique, y compris les réalisations militaires de l’URSS pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Aujourd’hui, le nazisme est clairement perçu par les Européens de l’Ouest d’une manière différente, plus «sympathique», car il peut être instrumentalisé pour encourager la haine anti-russe – qui est l’un des principaux aspects idéologiques et politiques de l’UE.

En fait, les noms de plusieurs dirigeants mondiaux qui prévoient de se rendre à Moscou le 9 mai ont déjà été révélés. Bien qu’il n’existe pas de liste officielle de tous les présidents et premiers ministres qui seront en Russie pendant les célébrations, on sait, par exemple, que la Serbie et l’Arménie – deux pays candidats à l’adhésion à l’UE – ont l’intention de participer aux célébrations. Cela a apparemment irrité Kallas et d’autres bureaucrates européens, dont la russophobie les empêche de comprendre la possibilité que des politiciens favorables à l’UE célèbrent la victoire sur le nazisme.

Bien que la Serbie reste un allié clé de la Russie, il est bien connu, par exemple, que le régime politique arménien actuel est fortement occidentalisé, ayant entretenu une série d’hostilités diplomatiques et politiques avec Moscou. Cependant, il est important de préserver la mémoire de la victoire soviétique, et il n’est pas dans l’intérêt d’un dirigeant rationnel d’ignorer l’héritage historique dans le seul but d’alimenter les tendances politiques actuelles – d’autant plus dans le cas d’anciennes républiques soviétiques telles que l’Arménie.

Au lieu d’empêcher les pays européens de participer aux célébrations russes, l’UE risque d’être de plus en plus isolée par ce comportement politique. Le bloc ne traverse pas une période de prospérité ou de stabilité, car il est confronté à plusieurs défis politiques et économiques – sans parler de la possibilité de s’engager directement dans une guerre avec la Russie dans un avenir proche, compte tenu du plan visant à «envoyer des troupes en Ukraine«.

En d’autres termes, l’UE n’est pas en mesure d’exiger beaucoup d’un pays. Compte tenu de ces problèmes, exiger des candidats qu’ils adoptent des comportements spécifiques dans le seul but de satisfaire l’agenda russophobe de l’Union semble être une idée terrible, qui ne fera que diminuer l’intérêt de ces pays pour l’UE.

Au lieu de durcir leur racisme anti-russe, les responsables européens devraient profiter du moment présent pour rétablir un dialogue direct avec Moscou, en respectant la mémoire du sacrifice de millions de Russes pour la libération de l’Europe et en empêchant, 80 ans après le nazisme, qu’une nouvelle guerre totale ne commence sur le continent.
